Groundbreaking 2-Hour Fire-Rated Prefabricated Steel Stores
Together with our partners, we have launched a range of 2-hour fire-rated, pre-manufactured flammable liquid store facilities in South Africa after years of research, development, and testing. Given different municipal and provincial regulations, the project was lengthy and onerous. The key to success was sourcing panels that could withstand a rigorous 2-hour fire test, which the FIRELAB in South Africa has approved. This is the first 2-hour fire-rated, pre-manufactured flammable liquid store facility in South Africa.
The portable stores will help those renting premises comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993, specifically related to Hazardous Chemical Substances Regulation, and enhance employee and environmental safety. With the local authorities’ approval, these stores can be safely moved from one site to another by forklift or a small crane.

Future portable stores may be introduced, depending on customer needs. SHEQ 365 played an intertidal part in the project to deliver the first 2-hour fire-rated, pre-manufactured flammable liquid store facility to DSV situated in Plumbago. We have just delivered another 2-hour fire-rated, pre-manufactured to L’Oréal.
